Varvsudden is an industrial harbour area in Landskrona, approximately 40 kilometres north of Malmö in the heart of Öresund, one of the world's busiest maritime corridors. Since 2020, Niam has owned and managed the area, which consists of a mix of industrial premises and office buildings, as well as a dry dock and shipyard quay. The total lettable area amounts to 71,000 square meters together with lettable land areas of 130,000 square meters.
Niam signs lease agreement with Saab for 15,000 sqm industrial property
Niam has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Saab for approximately 15,000 square meters of industrial premises located at Varvsudden in Landskrona. Saab is expanding within the maritime sector and needs to increase its production capacity. Niam's industrial property at Varvsudden offers well suited premises for this type of operation. Occupancy is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.
"Saab's operations fit well into the area and contributes to increased synergies among tenants while strengthening Varvsudden's position as one of the leading shipyard areas in Sweden," says Erik Rydström, Fund Manager at Niam.
Varvsudden's location provides direct access to a well-established transportation network and vital infrastructure, including the E6 and E4 highways, Copenhagen's and Malmö's airports, the Öresund Bridge, railways, and maritime terminals.
In a statement, Saab announces its growth in the naval sector and the need to expand production capacity. Varvsudden in Landskrona offers excellent conditions for this type of operation, and they believe their establishment will enhance the maritime technology industry in the area.
